Hello Crystal. Hello Rainier. Definitely the best powder day of my Puget Sound existence. A solid 18" fell on Thursday, leaving some extremely light and luscious powder in its wake. This was my first time at Crystal (I'm embarrassed to admit) and was impressed by the amount of terrain I encountered. I think I finished the day with a bit of a sunburn. It was one of those days that you dream about.
It was pretty much like this the whole morning. Josh is pictured here about mid-mountain.
No problems today.
Best run of the day.
Sun and snow covered trees are a nice sight.
Oh well, OK.
A parting shot of Rainier again.
I spent this dry and cold weekend steelheading with my brother on the Skagit system. Unfortunately, the conditions were not ideal and we were shut down. I did squeak this small dolly out of the last hole of the day, and my bro caught a much bigger one the first day (see below)

The Skagit "mixer" hole... with people on it :(
Classic PNW trail.

Paul fighting a nice dolly on the Skagit River.
Welcome to the east Cascades.
It was just us and snowmobilers to start the day off.
Randonee - it was nice meeting you. One of these days we'll have to hitch a ride...
Sun. Snow. Good.
When Josh gets this grin, snow beware...
The crew (Josh, Dan, and Mike) surveying the situation. Notice the rocks in the foreground. Like the Woz said, anyplace exposed to sun and wind was generally skinny and crusty.
The knuckledragger line :-)
Sun and tele skier (in shade). This is where the best snow was found.
Me (thanks for the photo, Dan).
