Snowboarding

Chair 7, in pure heaven...
What a difference a year makes - after a forgettable season last year, this year's snow season's gotten off to an awesome start. These first few shots are from opening day at Mt. Baker (photos by Mark Ruebel). That's me and George Iftner on the last run of the day.
Mark Ruebel and Josh Wozniak, telemark extraordinaires, on the ski lift.
A few parting shots with Josh.

Here's a bunch of snowboarding pictures that I've thrown together. As of right now, they're all from Mt. Baker, which has been the resort of choice for me for the last two years (both of which coincide with me owning a digital camera... imagine that). I'm planning on posting more during the 05/06 winter, which will hopefully come through a little more than last year. Enjoy!
Herrera telemark pros Josh Wozniak and Mark Ruebel.
Another cool shot of Shuksan.
It doesn't snow like this every day in Seattle...
Flat tires are a drag... especially if your name's Dan Weiss.
Quite a drive up (January 9, 2005) with low-level snow conditions.
Tracy with a great find near Carlos' condo.
A large Herrera crew (George Iftner, Tracy Phelps, Craig Doberstein, and Dan Weiss) surveys the situation with Carlos Herrera leading the way.
A cool shot from a run just off of Chair 1.
Shuksan from the parking lot.
Manuel
One of those lines is mine...
Manuel's rippin' it up on the Arm.
Me with Shuksan in the background.

Hiking ridge lines isn't all fun and games.
An unusually sunny day allows one to finally view Mt. Baker (the Mt. Baker ski resort is actually a good distance from Mt. Baker).
That's me near the top of the Arm with avalanche conditions looking worse than they actually were.
Kelly Carey with my hat looking like a rock star!
The big hat trick.
Artsy party pictures of the Baker scene.

My friends Manuel and Susi Dietrich in their mobile home in Glacier, Washington. They were hanging out for 6 weeks while on break from med school in Munich, Germany.

That's a helmet that's under the hat
The Arm.
There's a lot of snowboarder dudes out here.

Comments:
Hi Alex - greetings from sunny San Francisco. Steph sent me your blog info, so I just checked it out. Looks great! She wants to blog our trip to Iceland. However, I'm a little ambivilent about putting our lives on the web. Keep us posted about how yours is doing.

Ciao,
